Fairy Lantern
The theme was 'Shiny' for the creative challenge at my Local Art shop. So I decided to the make the fairy lantern. You will find lots of tutorials online for this, but this is how I did it...
Drew and cut of the shape of a fairy in black card.
PVA glued white tissue paper all over the outside of a jam jar.
Let dry and glue the fairy on the inside of the jar.
Sprinkled glitter on the outside of the jar (on top of the dried tissue paper)
and then tied a glittery ribbon around the top of the jar.
some tutorials include the lid, but I left this off as I thought it would be easier to access the candle inside.

Vintage Photography - Soho Myna
I brought this camera on ebay for £12. I've had film cameras in the past as I was growing up, but I was really interested in using a camera with the bellows front. This one is a 'All Distance' Soho Myna and dates from the late 1920s to early 1930s. The camera is all metal and takes 120 film. I purchased my film from Retro Film Supplies and had them developed using this website http://www.rollfilmprocessing.co.uk/ Their website is easy to navigate and would highly recommend using them.
Once I received the film I had a trip over to the Isle of Wight and took these photos...
Although the camera didn't really focus very well on faces, I think they turned out quite well.

Shadow People
I drew these characters using black ink. In my next post, I will be reproducing this in my first lino print.

The Green Man
This is a card I made for my husband. It's the image of The Green Man.
I cut card in the different shapes, then I painted over them using acrylic paint and then layered it on the card.
What you think?

Illustration Friday: Secret
One of my favourite books is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. So when this weeks theme was 'secret' I had to use the story in some way.
